Why do you it took four different people to create a japanese woodcut? why didn't one person do all the work like most artists of today?

It is like putting part of all four peoples spirit into the woodcut. My ex that was from Japan told me about this and how it is tradition for all four people to put their spirit into it. So it is symbolic of the four people.
