That day my father came home with a baby monkey. In the beginning the monkey was scared at first. But later when I got up and offered a banana to him he jumped into my lap and took it from my hand. My father pulled a chair and made him sit on it.

                By now, he had become friendly with me. He happily ate the banana and held my hand with his little fingers. I called him Chintu. He seemed to like his name. I wanted to get up and go to my room. He clung to my arm and begged me to take him along. So I took him to my room.

                I sat down on my chair and opened my school bag to take out my books. Chintu wanted to see what was there in my bag so he peeped into it. When I started writing with a pen, he took it from me and tried to hold it like me. Then I took out a pencil and eraser, he pulled it out of my hand and tried to bite it. That day I enjoyed doing my homework with him sitting next to me.  In this way I got a new friend and pet.
