They had the fear of everything in them, they did not gain knowledge from religion but feared it. They did not believe that God was a guide, rather thought that God would punish them for every action of theirs.
Their ignorance made them uneducated about the real concepts of the religion. However, with the passage of time with scientific knowledge people learned that every action had a reason and they found the real concepts of religion.
Early men's religion grew out of fear and ignorance as they were very superstitious and they thought that whatever is happening has a bad reason behind it. They relate their lives affected by the movement of stars.
They believed that an uncertain rain is an indication of a disaster, the passing of a cat is a bad omen. They were Atheists.
With scientific development, they started to believe that every activity is scientifically quoted and they also started understanding the real concept of religion.
