The Diamond Sutra is the earliest dated and printed book.
It is a Mahayana sutra from the 'Perfection of Wisdom' genre. It emphasizes the practice of non-attachment and non-abiding. It is one of the most influential Mahayana sutras in East Asia. Aurel Stein found a copy of the Chinese version among the Dunhuang manuscripts in 1907. It is dated back to 11 May 868.
